Live learning: when you remove an event owner on a subportal, their events are assigned a new owner correctly 29 August 2025 Issue resolved
When an event owner leaves a portal, the events they created need to change owners. The “oldest” admin on the portal becomes the default owner; if there are multiple instructors available, you can assign a new owner.
Routine testing showed that this change of ownership wasn’t working correctly on sub-portals, leaving some events without owners, and no way to manage the events.
The team reviewed the issue and corrected it, so that when an event owner leaves a sub-portal, their events are correctly picked up by either admins or other event owners in the sub-portal.

Live learning: registration for sessions now work for courses where learners need approval to join the course 29 August 2025 Enhancement Better messages
A customer reported that their catalog course that required approval didn’t allow learners to register for course sessions. Learners who tried to register saw a Failed to register to session message. The message didn’t convey that the learners required approval to enroll in the course, and didn’t indicate how to proceed.
The team reviewed the issue and designed options to
- alert learners that they needed to request approval with a better error message
- allow learners to register to sessions, even while their enrollment approval is pending

Several customers reported that they could create online sessions in their preferred timezones OK. When they needed to update the session times, the time in the edit page used the UTC timestamp, rather than the preferred timezone.

Enhancements to the look and feel of the learner experience 29 August 2025 Issue resolved Enhancement
After releasing the redesigned interface and course experience for learners, the team has picked up and resolved some small issues with the look and feel of courses. These issues included:
- in course breadcrumbs, the home icon exits to the learner Home. The Exit button returns the learner to their previous location
- text in exam results not wrapping correctly
- when learners set up a video recording for an assignment, their recording starts and stops correctly
- in assignment modules, the Delete icon displays correctly as a garbage can rather than an X
- removing Message instructor from course details page, for conditions when this feature is not available, specifically:
- licensed courses do not include Message instructor
- before the learner enrolls on a course. Learners can message instructors after enrollment, but not before
- in courses with lots of modules, you can scroll the side navigation successfully to select and view a module down the list
Correcting these issues makes the experience of using LearnUpon smoother and more pleasant for both learners and managers.
