Combining Home and My learning
In August 2026 LearnUpon is changing the learner view to combine Home and My learning into a single clear, Home for learners.
Availability: all customers
This improved Home design:
- shares vital information about learners' enrollments through a sidebar
- displays learners' progress and current statuses through courses and, when in use, learning journeys and learning paths
- provides access to External training and Skills, when these features are available in the portal
The following GIF gives an overview of a learner’s Home with its navigation tools and progress details all viewable from 1 page.
A streamlined sidebar for finding current content
The most obvious change for learners is:
- combining My learning into Home for a single effective display of learning
- adding a navigation sidebar that makes current content easy to find, and identifies content as 1 of Enrolled or Completed
The sidebar shows only the content and statuses the learner can access. For example, if your portal uses only courses, learners won’t see learning journeys, learning paths, external training or skills.
Selecting content by Enrolled or Completed status opens the relevant dashboards within Home, so learners can view and filter their content further.
The following screenshot shows a learner’s sidebar with navigation elements to reach content.
In this example a learner selected Courses > Enrolled to access their course enrollments. Of their 10 courses, they have 3 at In progress status and 7 in Not started status. Selecting the status tabs displays the courses in their associated statuses.
Learner sidebar is on the Home only
The navigation sidebar appears on Home only, to access courses and, when available, learning journeys and learning paths.
The layout for other learner pages like Live learning, Catalog, Resources, Store and Forum are not changing.
Home page reimagined
The Home page retains all its known features.
When portals use learning journeys and learning paths, the improved Home now includes direct links to learners' current learning journeys and learning paths when in use. These cards include progress bars and Start or Continue buttons, making it easy for learners to pick up where they left off.
The following screenshot highlights the learning journey and learning path cards in the learner Home.
Use the sidebar
Access learner content
For the courses, learning journeys and learning paths, learners can select 1 of:
- Enrolled: to view the statuses for current content
- Completed: to view the statuses for completed content
These content dashboards open within Home, taking you directly to the relevant content.
Each Enrolled and Completed page includes a search field, and filters for categories and live sessions to help learners find their content.
Cards for the courses, learning journeys and learning paths include:
- progress bars while content is In progress
- time required for the content, defined by the customer in the course details, or a module count
- any relevant live learning - a coming date and time, or a notification about registration
- any relevant date - enrollment date or due date, depending on the course
Select training
When a learner selects content at In progress status, the course, learning journey or learning path opens immediately where they left off.
When a learner selects content in Not started, Completed or Requested status, the application opens the relevant Content details.
View Enrolled training
Selecting Enrolled for any content displays the cards for courses, learning journeys or learning paths where the learner is enrolled. The content appears in the relevant dynamic tabs:
- All - sum of all content at In progress, Not started, Requested, Pending review statuses, plus Reattempts if applicable
- In progress - learner has started but not finished all modules or courses
- Not started - learner is enrolled but not selected Start
- Requested - learner requested enrollment, that is not yet approved
- Pending review - a course has an assignment, checklist or scorable module that requires instructor or admin action
- Reattempts - where a learner failed a scorable module like an exam, and has attempts remaining
For courses that require live learning registrations, a banner appears on the Enrolled page as a reminder. Learners can dismiss it for a session. It reappears at the next session, as long as registration is required.
View Completed training
Selecting Completed for any content opens the courses, learning journeys or learning paths where the learner has completed training. The content appears in the relevant dynamic tabs:
- All - sum of all content at Completed, Passed, Failed statuses
- Completed - all modules finished, including courses with no scored components
- Passed - scorable modules the learner passed
- Failed - where a learner failed a scorable module, and no re-attempts are available
