Lia recommends courses to learners through chat
Lia is an AI assistant for content discovery to help learners find the courses they need. Learners can type in any question in the chat, and get personalized recommendations for cataloged courses, based on its index.
Lia’s chat features
Lia provides a continuous chat session, unless learners choose to start a new chat. Chat sessions persist between portal sessions.
When learners start a new chat, they lose access to the previous chat session.
Lia refers only to cataloged content. The AI assistant is trained on the contents of the internet to provide context and conversational tone, but it cannot refer learners to courses outside the catalog.
LearnUpon uses feedback to make Lia work better
Lia includes a feedback option. Learners can rate their results, to help developers improve the output of the language model and return better suggestions over time.
Access permissions
- learners: access Lia on all pages except eCommerce
- all other user types: access Lia from their Learner view

From your learner profile: the Lia icon appears in a corner of each learner page, except eCommerce.
Select the icon to open a chat window.
