One source for all self-directed learning
As LearnUpon updates its interface to meet customer needs better, learners get a Catalog to view all the courses and learning paths they can access and enroll on through your organization. The following GIF highlights the look and feel for learners.
Banners
Use banners to feature current messages to learners, calls to action and reminders. See Set up dashboard and catalog banners.
Each course gets a card
The course cards summarize a lot of information in a small space, including:
- course title and release date
- course image
- label for course or learning path
- label to indicate Live Session, aka ILT sessions
- length in time or number of modules
- ratings, based on number of reviews
The following screenshot is an example of a row of cards in the catalog. Learners can see up to 5 cards across, and the display resizes smoothly for smaller screens.
Browse, search and filter the catalog
Learners can browse the catalog for courses of interest. Rolling your pointer over the course card:
- highlights the course
- displays the course description
- offers the option to Enroll, Request enrollment or Start now, depending on your course and catalog settings
See the request enrollment setting, and catalog enrollment options in Add courses and learning paths to the catalog.
The following screenshot shows an expanded course card when you roll over it, offering the choice to Start Now or Enroll.
Learners can filter the catalog offerings by:
- Search - looking for terms within courses only
- All options, courses only or learning paths only
- Category
- Live sessions aka instructor-led training, or Live Learning
They can also sort the catalog by course Name or Release Date.
Tip: when you restrict courses to certain groups, the restricted courses appear only to group members. Other organization learners don’t see them in the catalog at all.
This restriction is different from filtering. See Add courses and learning paths to the catalog.
The search engine in the top navigation reviews titles, descriptions and keywords for courses within the catalog.
The following screenshot shows the search field plus filters. The Live Sessions filter is selected, and the screenshot includes the first 2 results.
