View and upload an assignment from a learner's point of view

In an assignment module, learners can:
- write answers in the rich text editor, called CK Editor - see Use the rich text editor
- upload documents as part of their assignment
- record and upload video within the assignment - see Learner view: record a video for an assignment
Note: you need to publish the course with the assignment module before learners can upload files. The upload option for learners isn't available in preview.
Learner view of the assignment module
When learners open the assignment module they can read the Assignment Details. The module status appears as In Progress.
The following screenshot shows the learners' view of an assignment.
When learners are ready to start entering their response, they select Your assignment content.
The learners see the rich text editor where they can write, edit and format their content. In the assignment module, CK Editor doesn't support raw HTML.
As soon as learners enter content, the option to Save for later becomes available, to save their work as often as required.
Upload assignment files
Learners can upload any of the file types supported by LearnUpon, including video files. They can upload up to 5 files, to complete their assignments.

For any file type not listed, learners can compress (zip) the file to upload it, so long as it remains under 500MB per file.
To start, learners can drop items or Choose file, to
- open their device's storage
- select a file
- select Open or Add to attach the file to the assignment
The file appears under the Attached materials heading.
Learners can view, download or delete their own files if required, to confirm their contents or replace them with a different version.
If the feature is turned on, learners can also use the video recording option to create a short video segment.

Submit an assignment
When their assignment is complete learners can select Submit.
In the confirmation dialog that opens, they select Submit to confirm.
In courses where multiple instructors are available, and not assigned directly to individual learners, learners must choose their instructor before submitting the assignment.
If they don't know which instructor to choose, they can select I'm not sure.
After selecting Submit, learners can still view or download their assignment, though they can't delete or submit a different version.
