Learners can share their successes with their networks
After finishing courses, learners can post the news and their certificates to LinkedIn and X.
Availability: all customers
Social sharing applies to individual courses, but not currently to learning journeys.
With social sharing turned on for the portal, learners see a prompt to share their successful completed courses and certificates:
- LinkedIn: after completing a course with a certificate, the application prompts learners to log in to LinkedIn and add the certificate to their account. LearnUpon fills in the course and certificate name automatically. Certificates appear listed in the learner's profile, under Licenses & Certifications
- X: after the learner logs in to X, LearnUpon provides a default editable text that inserts the course name and portal name. As admin you can add default hashtags to this text.
For LinkedIn sharing:
- the course requires a certificate associated with it, so there is content to share. See Set up course certificates
- LinkedIn assigns Organization IDs to companies with profiles on its platform. Add the Organization ID at the portal level so LearnUpon - or your white-labelled portal - is credited correctly in the LinkedIn announcement
The following screenshot shows the prompt to share a result, as it appears to learners on the refreshed course details page.
If you set up courses with completion notifications, learners get an email after completing the course, encouraging them to share their results. If there's a certificate associated with the course, it's attached to the email.
See Course notifications: set automated messages for course events about setting notifications.
Enable learners to post their completed courses to social accounts
- From the dashboard go to Settings > Courses > Social sharing.
- For X/Twitter and LinkedIn, select Enabled for one or both social media.
- Optionally:
- add your LinkedIn Organization ID if available to display the Issuing organization automatically in the learner's post. The organization will appear already filled in when the learner logs in to LinkedIn
- add Hashtags to appear in the default X/Twitter text. Learners can change this text as required
- enter a Promotional URL to replace the portal URL in all X/Twitter and LinkedIn posts shared by learners
- Save to finish.
