Enter the exam
When they select the exam module, learners see an introduction to the exam, which specifies:
- whether the module is an exam or a knowledge check
- any time limits
- how many questions are on the exam
- the score required to pass the exam
- the number of attempts allowed
You set these options from the exam module > Exam options.
The following screenshot shows the intro page before a short exam.
In the exam
The learner selects Start exam to begin.
The exam header provides a reminder of any time limits. If learners can revise earlier questions then the Previous button is available.
The following screenshot shows a sample timed exam. It's the first question so has no Previous question.
Finish the exam
For any exam, learners can submit their answers when they are finished. For a timed exam, the application submits their answers automatically when the time runs out.
The following screenshot shows the confirmation dialog for submitting answers.
Leave the exam
The Leave exam option is available from the header. You define how LearnUpon handles a learner leaving the exam before completing the questions, from the exam module > Exam options.
The following screenshot shows the confirmation message, when you allow learners to leave and return to an exam attempt.
Exam results
Learners get their results as soon as LearnUpon calculates their score.
In Exam options, when you select Show passing score required after submitting the exam, it appears in the result message, whether the learner was successful or not.
The following screenshot shows the successful message with the passing score.
The next screenshot shows the unsuccessful message with the passing score, and the option to re-attempt the exam.
