Courses: set release dates for modules

Summary

Set release dates for certain modules, to manage when your learners access content. You turn on the feature for the whole portal, and then set the calendar dates by module, within the course.

This feature is available to all customers.

Module release dates let instructors control when learners access specific modules. For example:

• make an assignment available a few days after publishing the course content
• release a series of videos over several weeks
• release an exam after learners attend required instructor-led training sessions

Allow release dates on the portal

1. From primary navigation Settings > Courses > General Settings
2. From Content Settings, select Enable module release dates.
3. Save to finish.

Set release dates for modules, by course

1. From the primary navigation Courses > your course name.
2. From secondary navigation, select Content.
3. On the module, select More > Set Release Date.
4. Enter a Date and Time from the date picker.
5. Save to finish.

The following screenshot shows More (aka 3-dot menu) options for a module.

The module now displays a release date and time.

Note: The timezone depends on your portal configuration.

To check your portal configuration:

1. From the primary navigation Settings > My Portal,  select General settings.
2. Check the timezone.
