Cancel manual registrations, and let learners cancel their own

Availability: all customers

Admins and event owners can register learners to sessions in Live Learning either automatically, or manually. See Live Learning: register learners for sessions.

For manual registrations: if you assign a learner to a session by mistake, you can cancel their registration for the session. The seat in the session is available again, and the learner’s name moves to the Unregistered learners list for the event. You can assign the learner to another session as required.

You can also set up your learning event so that learners can cancel their own registrations.

This cancellation option isn't available for automatic registrations.

Cancelling a session registration does not affect the learner’s enrollment on the course.

Prerequisites for session cancellations

Before handling learner registrations, you need to

publish a course that contains a Live Learning event. See Live Learning: create and edit a learning event and Live Learning: add an event to a course
create at least 1 session for that event. See Live Learning: create and edit sessions
register learners to the session. See Live Learning: register learners for sessions

Access permissions for sessions

Admins: can create courses, Live Learning events, and sessions, by default
Instructors, and managers with instructor permissions: can access sessions when they own the Live Learning event

To become an owner, you need permissions to create and edit courses. See:

Cancel registrations for learners

From main navigation go to Live Learning.
Find your Live Learning event.
Select Sessions and select the required session.
From the list of learners, choose the learner and select More (aka 3-dot menu) > Cancel registration.
In the confirmation dialog that opens, select Yes.

LearnUpon removes the learner’s name from the session. Their name appears in the Unregistered learners list.

Set up learning events to let learners cancel their own registrations

When you create or edit a Live Learning event, you can select Give learners the option to cancel registration. This setting applies to all the sessions in that event.

Cancelling a session registration doesn’t affect the learner’s enrollment on the course.
