Live Learning: add an event to a course – Knowledge Base

Add up to 5 Live Learning events to courses

Availability: all customers

Live Learning: overview and features for background about Live Learning.

Customers can access both Live Learning events and legacy ILT modules through Courses. You can continue using your existing ILT modules within courses.

You can't add both Live Learning events and legacy ILTs to the same course.

Once part of a course, Live Learning events act like your existing content modules:

drag and drop them to change their order
use More (aka 3-dot menu) > Remove to take a module out of a course
once published, you require a new course version to add or remove a module from a course

Note: when you re-version a course that contains Live Learning, any learners at In Progress status must restart the course. This restart affects Live Learning events and sessions the same way it affects content modules.

Access permissions to Live Learning

Admins: can create and edit events and sessions by default
Instructors, with permissions turned on: can create and edit events and sessions
Managers with instructor permissions: can create and edit events and sessions

Add an event to a course from Live Learning

You can add up to 5 Live Learning events to 1 course.

From main navigation go to Courses > your course.
From secondary navigation select Content.
From Add New Content, select Add a live learning event to open a list of available events.
Choose the event you need, or search for them by title.
Select Add to finish.

Preview a course with an event before publishing

If you preview a course that includes a Live Learning event, you see a summary from the event's details.

From main navigation go to Courses > my course name.
From action menu select Preview Course.
Select the Live Learning event to view.
Select Back to Course to end preview.

The following screenshot is an example of an Live Learning event, when you preview it before publishing.

Edit an event from within a course

From main navigation go to Courses > your course.
From secondary navigation select Content.
Select the Live Learning event to open the module's Event details.
Select View details to see these details within Live Learning.
Select Edit event to make any changes to the module.
Save changes to finish.
