Branding for groups: overview
Group branding allows you to assign specific brands to different groups within a portal. Branding provides a visual identity for groups within a larger organization.
In the Branding page, you create brands for your portal (as default) and for groups. After creating the brands you can assign them to groups.
You can assign 1 brand to more than 1 group: a group can have a maximum of 1 brand assigned to it. Groups without specific branding assigned use the portal default brand.
When learners are in multiple groups that share the same brand, the learners see the shared branding. When learners belong to more than one branded group, and the brands are different from each other, LearnUpon displays the portal default brand to learners.
Note: group branding does not apply to the eCommerce feature. Your store branding doesn't change for learners, when you apply branding to groups.
You set eCommerce branding when you set up your store. See eCommerce: add your brand with color, logos, images and video
Scenario: one brand per group
One brand per group: In a portal with 5 groups, you can set up a portal default brand, and 1 brand per group. Learners who are in more than 1 group see the portal default brand.
Scenario: groups that share 1 of 3 brands within an organization
In a portal with many groups, you can set up the portal default, plus 3 brands and assign groups to 1 of 3 brands. Brand total = 4. Learners who are in more than 1 group see the portal default brand.
The groups that aren’t assigned a brand display the portal default.

Branding conflicts
When a learner belongs to multiple groups with different branding, the learner has a branding conflict. Admins can download a list of learners experiencing these conflicts as a CSV file. Optionally, admins can update the learners' group membership as required.
The conflict list includes:
- user name
- user email
- user role
- branded group names
- brands applied
- a link to the page where admins can address the issue (Users > named user > Groups)
Prerequisites
Your portal needs groups already set up to associate to different brands.
See Create groups, and assign users to groups.
Access permissions
- admins with full portal permissions: can set up branding for groups
