This feature is available to all customers.
Images and alt-text: overview
When you upload an image to the LearnUpon application, you can crop your image to fit the display. The default size in the cropping tool matches the size required in the interface. You can also enter a text description of the image, which appears as alternative text, or alt text.
This tool appears as part of the image upload process for
- user profiles, if enabled
- course images
- learning path images
- forum images
- branding images like logos
- banner images
The image cropper does not appear when you add images as part of course content in modules.
Upload and crop an image
This example is from a course with the path Courses > my course > Details.
- From Course images, select Upload File.
- Choose a file from your drive. The application opens the file in the cropping tool, with the maximum image size featured.
- Use the pointer to resize the cropped area, or drag the focus to recenter the cropped area.
- In Alternative text, enter a short description of the image.
Optional: select Change image to upload a different image, without closing the cropping tool. - Select to finish.
The following screenshot shows a course image in the cropping tool with a sample alt text.
