Associations: set up learning credits for members

Summary

Award learning credits automatically to your association members, when members complete professional development activities.

This feature is available to all customers on request. Contact the support team to add it to your portal.

Set up credits for CPD, CEU, CME or any other professional development system, and add those credits to any course on the portal. You can also award credits for external events like conferences or in-classroom training.

Create learning credits in the portal

These credits apply across the portal.

1. From main navigation go to Settings > Association Settings > Learning Credits. LearnUpon provides a default credit as an example.
2. Select Add Learning Credit.
3. Select an existing learning credit name from the dropdown menu, or enter a name in Learning Credit Name. 
4. In Abbreviation, include an abbreviation for the credit name: LearnUpon shows this abbreviation in course descriptions and reports.
5. Save to finish.

Your credits appear in the Credits page. See the screenshot for an example.

Add learning credits to a course

From the Courses menu, you add learning credits to the courses which contribute to your association's professional development system.

1. From main navigation go to Courses > your course name.
2. Select Certs and Credits.
3. Enter values for the learning credits which apply for this course. 
4. Save to finish.

Award learning credits per Instructor-Led Training (ILT) session

For courses which include ILT sessions, you can set up credits so that learners receive learning credits for attending a whole course, or for attending individual ILT sessions, within a single course.

The distinction:

• assign 1 CPD credit per course made up of 3 ILTs: a learner gets 1 credit on completion
• assign 1 CPD credit per ILT, made up of 3 ILTs: a learner gets 3 credits for 3 ILT sessions

To enable this setting, a course must contain 2+ ILT sessions: a course with multiple content modules and 1 ILT session doesn't trigger the setting in LearnUpon.

1. From main navigation go to Courses > your course name.
2. Select Certs and Credits.
3. Enter values for the learning credits which apply for this course. 
4. Toggle Award credits per session.
5. Save to finish.

In this screenshot example, the sample course has 6 modules, 2 of which are ILT sessions.

Add a certificate

If learners receive a certificate for completing this course, you add a link to that certificate from Certs and Credits.

You need to set up certificates on the portal first, for certificates to appear in the dropdown menu. See Set up course certificates for the whole process.
