Legacy eCommerce: make a course or learning path available for sale

You can sell any course or learning path you publish on your portal. 

Availability: all customers

To widen access and help learners find courses or learning paths by browsing your store, you can add Course Categories or Path Categories, which act like tags to group courses by topic or requirement together. You create categories for the whole portal, then "tag" your courses with categories.

To limit sellable courses or learning paths to particular audiences, you can restrict access to courses by group. See Create groups, and assign users to groups.

To access the Store settings, you need to turn on eCommerce features on your portal. See Collection: eCommerce to get started.

Add published content to your store

This procedure is about making a course or learning path sellable only. For how-tos about other options related to sales, see

Add a course to your store

  1. From main navigation, go to Courses > your course.
  2. From the course Info, select Sales.
  3. From Sales Settings , turn on Course is sellable?
  4. Enter a price for your course. If you set up memberships on your portal, you can set separate prices for members, non-members and other membership types.
  5. Optionally:
    • add Course Categories, to help learners find your course while browsing
    • limit which LearnUpon groups can access the course. In Further restrict access by Group? search and select group names
  6. Save to finish.

Tip: select View in store to preview the course as it appears to buyers in your online store.

The following screenshot shows the settings for an example course. This course includes sales tax and an option for a free course through a coupon code.

Add a learning path to your store

You set learning paths as Sellable at the path level, rather than the course level.

When you set a learning path as sellable, the courses become sellable only as part of the learning path. The buyer can't select an individual course: the path comes as a package. The courses' individual Sellable setting does not change. 

To sell a course as a standalone item, you need to set the course as Sellable. See Add a course to your store elsewhere in this article.

  1. From main navigation, go to Courses.
  2. From top navigation select Learning paths > your learning path. 
  3. From the path Info, select Sales.
  4. From Sales Settings , select Path sellable?
  5. Enter a price for your learning path. If you set up memberships on your portal, you can set separate prices for members, non-members and other membership types.
  6. Optionally:
    • add Path Categories, to help learners find your course while browsing
    • limit which LearnUpon groups can access the course. In Further restrict access by Group? search and select group names
  7. Save to finish.

Tip: select View in store to preview the learning path as it appears to buyers in your online store.
