Summary
Admins, instructors and managers can reset the number of attempts a learner has at a course's exams. This option lets learners start an exam module over.
This reset option is available to all customers using exam modules.
Typically, you reset exam attempts so that a learner can repeat an exam from scratch, so no previous exam results count.
This option doesn't change:
- the exam content from the question pool
- the number of attempts allowed in the exam options
- the learner's scores on other modules on the course
Instead this option clears the learner's existing exam attempts on an exam module, so they can repeat the exam.
Note: these instructions apply to LearnUpon exam modules using question pools, rather than exams within SCORM or Tin Can modules.
Access permissions to exam attempts
Admins can reset any user's exam attempts.
Managers can reset exam attempts for any user they manage.
The rule of thumb: if the manager can view the user's profile, then the manager has permissions to change the user's exam attempts.
Instructors can reset exam attempts for learners assigned to the instructor on a course.
Prerequisites
To make use of this option you need:
- a published course with an exam module
- a user enrolled on the course, who has already attempted the exam module, and needs their exam attempts reset
