Enroll groups and individual learners, and track their learning journey progress
View Learner activity to see a highlight of your learners' progress. Check Alerts to resolve any blocked learner journeys. Download a CSV file or access an advanced progress report.

Enroll groups onto learning journeys through main navigation > Enrollments.
When you enroll a group:
- all the current learners in that group are enrolled in the learning journey
- any learners you add to the group future get enrolled in the same learning journey
Managers can enroll and unenroll learners, and view learning journeys
Currently, only admins can create, edit and publish learning journeys.
When you create or edit a learning journey you can set Permissions > Manager can enroll and unenroll, to give managers with enroll and unenroll permissions access to learning journeys.
Managers who can currently enroll and unenroll learners and groups on courses and learning paths get the same permissions for learning journeys.

From main navigation, these managers can access:
- Learning journeys to view the list of journeys, and view individual learning journeys (read-only)
- Enrollments to enroll learners and groups on learning journeys
- Users to unenroll learners individually through their user profiles
You can unenroll learners with Not started and In progress statuses for their learning journeys. You can't unenroll learners with learning journeys in Completed status.

Prerequisites

Access permissions
All admins: can create and publish learning journeys, and enroll and unenroll learners and groups
Managers with correct permissions:
- can view the journeys that allow managers to enroll and unenroll
- can enroll learners and groups through Enrollments
- unenroll individual learners by Users > learner name

Tip: if a manager with the correct permissions can access Learning journeys from main navigation but the list is empty, confirm that the learning journeys have Settings > Permissions > Manager can enroll and unenroll turned on.
Admins: enroll individual learners on a learning journey
Currently admins can enroll individual learners directly from the learning journey canvas.
Admins enroll groups through Enrollments, as described in Enroll individuals and groups on a learning journey.
- From main navigation go to Learning Journeys.
- Select a learning journey to view it.
- From the canvas select Enroll.
- In the Enroll learners dialog, select the learners, and select Enroll to confirm.
From the canvas, select Learner activity to view the list of learners enrolled on the journey.
Enroll individuals and groups on a learning journey
Currently managers enroll both individual learners and groups on a learning journey through Enrollments.
- From main navigation go to Enrollments.
- From Create New Enrollments select Switch to Journeys.
- Select a learning journey and select one of the following options:
- from Select Groups, choose the groups to enroll as required
- select Switch to users to view and individual learners to enroll
- Select Enroll to finish.

- From main navigation go to Learning Journeys.
- Select your learning journey.
- From the learning journey canvas select Learner activity to access
- highlights of learner statuses on the journey
- a list of learner names and their progress
Admins: view alerts about enrollments
Learning journeys notifies admins about any issues with a learner’s enrollment, so the admin can respond to the issue. The admin can then retry the enrollment.
By default, Alerts opens to the most recent alerts for all issues. You can filter Alerts by Status and by Event type as required, to access specific alerts.
- From main navigation go to Learner Journeys > your learning journey.
- From the journey canvas select Alerts.
- From Alerts, view the most recent issues that are affecting enrollments.
- Optionally: filter alerts by Status or by Event type.
- Select Reset filters to clear filters and access the default view.
The following screenshot shows Alerts for the most recent enrollments for a sample learning journey, with emails obscured. In this example, the training capacity is full.
To resolve, the admin needs to add more sessions in the training to allow more enrollments. After adding more sessions, the admin can select Retry to enroll the learners.
Unenrolling learners from learning journeys
You can unenroll learners with Not started and In progress statuses for their journeys. You can't unenroll learners with learning journeys in Completed status.

Managers with permissions: unenroll individuals through learner profiles
- From main navigation go to Users > your learner's name.
- From the learner's Info page select Enrollments.
- Select Learning journeys to find your learning journey.
- From the learning journey select More (aka 3-dot menu) > Unenroll.

Reports
For admins, learning journeys currently offers 2 options for reporting from the journey canvas: a quick view of learner status as a CSV file, and an advanced progress report using the full Reports features.

Export a status report as CSV file
Track your learners' progress on a learning journey. The CSV file provides a quick overview of learners' status on courses.
The following screenshot shows a sample CSV file opened in Google Sheets.
In this format, node_name refers to the branch, and node_state refers to the learner's status on that branch.
- From main navigation select Learning Journeys > your journey name.
- From the journey canvas select Learner activity.
- Select Export to download a report in CSV file format.
Run an advanced progress report
From the journey's Learner activity page you can create an an advanced progress report, using all the features available from Reports.

- From main navigation select Learning Journeys > your journey name.
- From the journey canvas select Learner activity.
- Select + Create report to open the advanced progress report, with all courses and learners from the learning journey listed.
- Filter the report as required and select Create report to run.
