What's new
Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)
We’ve added an extra layer of portal security. With 2FA, users can protect their LearnUpon accounts with an authentication code alongside a password - ensuring your data is always in the right hands.
SCORM 2004 Support
Just like with SCORM 1.2 and xAPI (Tin Can), LearnUpon now supports the SCORM 2004 eLearning standard. You can create SCORM 2004 courses in your preferred authoring tool. Then, easily add SCORM content to LearnUpon, ready for your learners to complete and for our LMS to track all the important performance data - simple!

Enhancements
Core
- Streamline your processes and promote manager autonomy with evolved Manager permissions: With the addition of new permissions for the Manager User Type, Managers can enroll and unenroll their group members in Learning Paths, generate Learning Path reports, reset exam attempts, and export the users they manage.
- Dynamic Rules improvements:
- Optional unenrollment: A new Enrollment Options item gives you more control over Group enrollments with Dynamic Rules. Choose whether to automatically unenroll users from Group courses (default), or keep them enrolled, when they don’t meet the conditions.
- New filter type: Easily account for different abbreviations and terminology within a single Rule condition with a new Contains one of filter type.
- Active Rules Counter: So you can see at a glance how many Active Rules you have, a counter on the Groups page will help you track how many Rules are in use against the Portal limit.
- Enrollments Incoming loader: Dynamic Rules does the heavy lifting in the background when you create a user. While it works behind the scenes, your user will see a New enrollments incoming message on the page if they log in to the Portal immediately after they are created.
Integrations
- Provide secure, delegated access with OAuth 2.0: With OAuth 2.0, you can connect up to three applications to LearnUpon and provide secure, delegated access to the LearnUpon API, without an API key.
- Simplified Course cloning via the API: Reduce the number of API calls you need to make when copying courses with the addition of the owner_id parameter to the Clone (copy) course endpoint, and improvements to the responses returned including a unique Global Unique Identifier (guid) per course.
- Set a minimum required time for attending a live meeting with Microsoft Teams: With every user having their own unique session URL, once they join a Microsoft Teams meeting through LearnUpon, they’re automatically marked as attended. Now, you can set a minimum required time to attend the session to get automatically marked complete.
Mobile
- Keep your learners in sync with push notifications on LearnUpon’s iOS app: With mobile push notifications for New Enrollments, your users will be kept in sync with their required training - even if they don’t have regular access to email.
Important Updates
- Upcoming removal of Auto-Assign Rules: The retirement date for Auto-Assign Rules is scheduled for Monday, December 13, 2021. If you’re currently using Auto-Assign Rules, you will need to migrate your settings to Dynamic Rules in advance, as it will replace the existing Auto-Assign Rules feature in your Portals after this date.
- Move to HTTPS only to advance a safer browsing experience: As a user, you always want to see https:// when visiting any site you trust with your essential information. To add an extra layer of security, we have enabled HTTP Strict Transport Security (HSTS). HSTS tells the browser to request HTTPS pages automatically, even if your portal content contains links to non-secure sources (other sites which still use HTTP).
- Software-Level API Rate and Pagination Limits implemented: To protect LearnUpon’s infrastructure and ensure reliability, we have implemented software-level rate limits and pagination limits on API requests for all portals with API access.
What's next
- Build your own custom reports, starting with LearnUpon’s new Progress Report: We can’t wait to pull back the curtain on custom reporting at LearnUpon, starting with a new report - the Progress Report. Incorporate the data you want from the existing Course History, Course Status, and Certificates & Credits reports in a single, customizable report - with our brand new Reports Builder. Keep an eye out, as this feature will be going into Beta very soon. Note that the existing, out-of-the-box reporting functionality will remain unaffected.
- A new option for mobile learning with LearnUpon’s Android app: We're fully mobile responsive, we've got an iOS app, and now we're adding Android as a new option for mobile learning. Version 1 of LearnUpon’s Android App will be available for your users to download from the Google Play Store very soon.
- Help your users meet essential training deadlines with push notifications on the LearnUpon mobile app: No email? No problem. With mobile push notifications for New Enrollments and reminders for upcoming Due Dates, your users will be kept in sync with their required training - even if they don’t have regular access to email.
